Default PVP Spiker Build - Need Help

At the moment i am getting faction for a PVP Spiker i am going to create. What kind of stuff am i gunna need for this?
Skills, weapons, attribute points etc.

First off, congrats on starting a fun and interesting build.


So, with spikers u have 2 choices. Exhaustion or no exhaustion. If u choose exhaustion, you will do TONS of dmg, and do lots of nasty things...until u run out of energy. If you don`t, you will do average damage, but be able to keep it going. Personally I`d say go for exhaustion if ur in CA. Don`t if ur going for tombs. This is what I use for CA

E/W

Attributes- Max Air, and put the rest in energy storage and tactics

Weaps- +30 mana, -2 E-Regen (focus + off hand)

Lightning Surge
Chain Lightning
Lightning Strike
Gale
Blinding Flash
Healing Signet
Blinding Flash
Ressurection Signet

You might wanna switch out Flash for Air Attune.

In other words, you want a high damage single-target build. To be picky, a "spiker" is only a spiker when there's two or more co-ordinating their attacks.

Try this if you want damage:
16 Air
4 Illusion
7 Inspiration
Rest Energy Storage

Lightning Strike
Lightning Orb
Blinding Flash
Ether Prodigy*
Air Attunement
Ressurection Signet
Drain Enchantment
Space//Distortion, or Enervating Charge

It just piles on constant damage. You should be able to take targets down quickly enough anyway. Distortion is a nice idea; you have prodigy which means yo won't be drained of energy. Good to keep warriors off you.

Try this for a quick high-energy spike dmg :

Phantom Pain -> L.Surge{E} -> L.Orb -> L.Strike -> E.Charge -> Shatter Delusions.

Max out Air (with a Sup rune) and distribute the rest among Storage and Dom, with spillovers (if any) in Illusion.

Or, if you want more sustained dmg over a period of time, go dual attunements, arcane echo Orb and orb away to glory. For all CA builds, make sure you have an anti-warrior/ranger spell such as Blinding Flash. It will save your life so many times it's not even funny.

An enchantment stripper is always helpful for those moments when you see the dreaded Protective Spirit walls closing around your target. God, I hate that spell. Especially since its animation so huge and glaring. It feels like your target is showing you the finger.

If you wanna keep it going for an extended period of time (no exhaustion, cast spells pretty much perpetually), this is my build:
16 air
12 energy storage

skills:
Aura of Restoration
Air Attunement
Elemental Attunement (E)
Lightning Strike
Enervating Charge
Lightning Javelin
Lightning Orb
Res Sig

not very good if you want big, fast damage, but still my fave. make sure you have weapon with enchants last 20% longer. you can pretty much spam spells perpetually. once your attunements run out, dont cast any spells until you can throw them back up (usually about a 5 second period). ive actually stood up to tanks this way simply because my aura kept healing me.

Look into a secondary necro and taking Consume Corpse (with about 10 in death).

Really good fun, and can give you a nice health and energy boost, ideal for getting the Attunes back up.

Attunements may theoretically keep you casting forever, but enchantment stripping will cripple you for up to a minute. It's up to you to take attunements, but I wouldn't touch them in PvP.

It does depend, if you're in HA then you can see if you're going to have a bonder or constant Aegis that can cover it. And Ele enchantments are seldom the ones that are drained.
